Conquering Fear

This is the Crib Goch in Snowdonia. It is a knife-edge ridge walk and scramble that takes you to the summit of Mount Snowdon.

Taking the Crib Coch route can vary from a thoroughly exhilarating experience to a terrifying one. It can be a severe test of nerve, especially for those who lack experience or do not have a head for heights.

When the conditions are fine, the views are breathtaking. But when the weather changes and the wind picks up, the clouds blow in, and rain starts to fall (sometimes horizontally!), many people find themselves paralysed by fear.

So how do you conquer your fear and develop the ability to tackle a challenge like the Crib? Well, the best way is to hire a mountain guide - an expert who will be by your side as you build your skill and confidence on the ridge. Step by step, no matter how tough it gets.

Getting a guide doesn't just apply to climbing mountains and tackling knife-edge ridges. It also applies to the other challenges we face - the ones in our professional and personal lives. Whatever challenge or hardship you face, you will find a coach or mentor will help you through it one step at a time, no matter how tough it gets. So if you are facing a difficult situation or want to grow your skills and confidence, then don't hesitate to reach out for help.
